El Candil - Orgiva, Spain - Property ref 17

El Candil is a very desirable property; well built and decorated, and set in a beautiful location. The house has been designed in order to make the most of the stunning mountain views, and there are many windows, patios, and the pool as well, that look out to the lovely scenery. The house is set in Tijola, which is the village in which the popular book ‘Driving Over Lemons’ and the 2 subsequent sequels, are set so you can enjoy the scenery and way of life depicted in these charming books, and perhaps pass some of the local characters, busy with their land and animals!

The house itself is traditionally Spanish and has many delightful features. There are lovely beamed ceilings, tiled floors, whitewashed walls, and olive and fruit trees outside. The house is spacious, with 3 bedrooms (2 double and one twin room), all decorated nicely with a fresh, cool feel to them. The open-plan kitchen and lounge area is a delightful space, with dark wood beams, large windows, a lovely traditional fireplace, a TV, and lots of cupboards and surfaces in the kitchen area, as well as all the necessary facilities, such as hob, microwave, and washing machine. There is one bathroom at the property, and this is fully fitted and well decorated.

Coming outside to the pool area there is a patio with lovely views of the surrounding mountains. The Sierra Lujar and Sierra Contravesia are opposite the house, and the Sierra Nevada is behind. There are lawns and a fenced garden outside, with several fruit trees, shrubs, and flowers, and the swimming pool is very nice. There is also a BBQ and sun-loungers for spending time outside. There is land measuring 5000sq.m surrounding the property, and there are private gates and a private driveway, so the whole setting is very relaxing, peaceful and private.
